About Parano

In the heart of Tuscia, in a corner of land rich in history and millenary traditions, lies the Azienda Agricola Parano (we are an Organic Farm). Here, in Vasanello, the landscape is designed by rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves, but what makes our farm unique is the dedication to hazelnut cultivation, a tradition that has been handed down for three generations. Each plant, each fruit, carries the knowledge of expert hands and the passion for a land that has always nurtured and sustained.

Our story began long before the official birth of the company. It began with our grandparents, who were deeply attached to the rhythm of the seasons and respect for nature. From them we inherited a love for working in the fields, the knowledge that the soil is a precious asset to be cherished with care. This philosophy has guided us along our path, leading us to choose organic farming as our only method of cultivation, a method that respects biodiversity and enhances the natural balance between plants and soil.

On an area of 49 acres, we mainly cultivate the Tonda Gentile Romana hazelnut, a variety that has always characterised this region, but in recent years we have decided to complement it with the Giffona, a premium hazelnut with exceptional organoleptic characteristics. To guarantee excellent production, we use Nocchione quality pollinators, chosen to ensure maximum yield and plant health. Every stage of the cultivation process is studied in detail, from respect for the soil to attention to the needs of each individual plant.

Our company is not just a production site, but a true open-air workshop, where tradition meets innovation. We are constantly researching innovative systems for the treatment of hazelnut trees, to guarantee a product that is as natural and environmentally friendly as possible. We use the most modern machinery for cultivation and harvesting, reducing processing and storage times, to best preserve the quality and flavour of our hazelnuts.

In 2017, we took a step forward in our growth path by inaugurating our production workshop. Here, the harvested hazelnuts are processed and packaged with the same care and passion that we devote to cultivation. We offer a range of organic products that includes in-shell and shelled hazelnuts, both natural and roasted. Our packages, ranging from 250 grams to 5 kilograms, are designed to meet the needs of every customer, from the small family to the large restaurateur.

But our real strength lies in the short supply chain and local processing. Every hazelnut that reaches the market has been grown, harvested and packaged here, in our territory. This allows us not only to guarantee maximum product freshness, but also to support the local economy, creating a direct link between the land and those who enjoy its fruits.
